Effective date: July 2026
Start Right Up Private Limited ("Start Right Up", "we", "us" or "our") provides relocation consultation, planning, assistance, liaison and coordination services. These Terms govern services provided to the person(s) purchasing or receiving those services ("Client", "you" or "your").
These Terms should be read together with the applicable quotation, proposal, service package, agreed scope of services, Change of Scope & Additional Services Authorisation Form, and any other written agreement issued or accepted by Start Right Up.
By signing or otherwise accepting a quotation or proposal, making payment, or instructing Start Right Up to commence services, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood and agreed to these Terms, subject to applicable law.
1. Our Services
1.1 Nature of Services
Start Right Up provides relocation consultation, planning, assistance, liaison and coordination services for individuals and families relocating to, settling in, or departing from Singapore. Depending on the package purchased, services may include:
- Pre-arrival and on-arrival support, including relocation planning, school research and shortlisting, school visit coordination, school application assistance, accommodation search assistance, arrival planning and airport transfer coordination.
- Settling-in support, including bank account opening guidance and appointment coordination, SIM card and telecommunications guidance, utilities and internet setup assistance, Singpass-related guidance where applicable, and local orientation.
- Departure support, including departure timeline planning, coordination of relevant notice periods, utility and local account closure guidance, general tax-clearance process guidance, and work-pass cancellation process coordination or guidance where applicable.
- Other services specifically identified in the Client's accepted quotation, proposal or written scope.
1.2 Scope of Engagement
Only services expressly included in the Client's accepted quotation, proposal or written scope are included in the agreed package. General service descriptions appearing on Start Right Up's website, social media, brochures, presentations or marketing materials do not automatically form part of the Client's package.
1.3 Free Initial Enquiry
The Client's initial enquiry is complimentary. Any consultation, research, planning, coordination or other substantive professional work following the initial enquiry forms part of the Client's selected package or another separately agreed service.
2. Quotations and Service Packages
2.1 Customised Packages
Start Right Up may customize services according to each Client's relocation requirements. The quotation or proposal will specify the included services, fees and, where appropriate, service limitations, assumptions and milestones.
2.2 Quotation Validity
Unless otherwise stated, quotations are valid for 14 calendar days from the date of issue. After that period, Start Right Up may revise pricing, availability, scope and timelines before accepting an engagement.
2.3 Excluded Services
Anything not expressly included in the accepted quotation or proposal is outside the agreed scope. Additional services may be subject to additional fees under Section 5.
3. Fees and Payment
3.1 Service Fees
Start Right Up's fees cover only the services provided by Start Right Up unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
3.2 Payment Schedule
Unless otherwise specified in the quotation:
- 50% Deposit – payable upon acceptance of the quotation or proposal. The engagement is confirmed upon receipt of the required deposit.
- 50% Balance – payable at the milestone or due date stated in the quotation or proposal. Where no separate milestone is stated, the balance is payable before commencement of the principal implementation or on-ground coordination stage.
Start Right Up may pause services where an amount has become due but remains unpaid.
3.3 Third-Party Fees
Start Right Up's service fees do not include third-party charges unless expressly stated otherwise. These may include school fees, government charges, accommodation costs, moving services, transport, banking charges, telecommunications, utilities, professional fees and other external-provider costs. The Client ordinarily engages and pays third parties directly.
3.4 Taxes
Fees are subject to any applicable taxes where required by law.
3.5 Card Payments
Card payments are processed securely through Stripe, a third-party payment provider. Start Right Up does not store your card details. A card processing fee applies to card payments, and the fee is higher for cards issued outside Singapore. The applicable fee will be shown before you confirm payment and is non-refundable.
4. Cancellation, Refunds and Rescheduling
4.1 Notice of Cancellation
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing by email, WhatsApp or another communication channel accepted by Start Right Up.
4.2 Cancellation Prior to Substantive Performance
Where the Client cancels before Start Right Up has commenced substantive work, amounts paid may be refunded less an administrative fee of S$100, subject to applicable law.
4.3 Cancellation Following Commencement
Where substantive work has commenced, Start Right Up may deduct from any refund: fees reasonably attributable to work already completed; the S$100 administrative fee; and any approved non-recoverable costs already incurred. Any remaining refundable balance will then be returned to the Client.
4.4 Performance of Fifty Per Cent or More
Where fifty per cent (50%) or more of the agreed scope has been completed, the initial 50% deposit will be non-refundable, subject to applicable law. Where work completed exceeds the value of the deposit, amounts attributable to services already performed may remain payable.
4.5 Substantially Performance
Where agreed services have been substantially performed, amounts paid shall generally be non-refundable except where otherwise required by applicable law or expressly agreed by Start Right Up.
4.6 Third-Party Costs
Third-party costs incurred or committed with the Client's approval remain subject to the relevant provider's cancellation and refund policies. Start Right Up does not guarantee that third-party payments are refundable.
4.7 Cancellation by Start Right Up
If Start Right Up terminates an engagement for reasons not caused by the Client and cannot provide the remaining agreed services, Start Right Up will refund fees paid for the portion not performed, subject to applicable law.
4.8 Rescheduling
The Client should provide at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule a confirmed appointment, consultation, viewing, school visit or other scheduled activity. Requests with less than 24 hours' notice may be treated as a late cancellation. Reasonable additional fees may apply where rescheduling creates extra work, rebooking fees, transportation expenses or third-party charges; any additional Start Right Up fee will be communicated before it is incurred.
5. Changes to Scope and Additional Services
The Client may request changes or additions to the agreed services, including additional schools, visits, applications, accommodation searches, family members, appointments, mover coordination, relocation-date changes, on-ground support or other services outside the original package.
Start Right Up will advise the Client where a request falls outside the agreed scope and requires an additional fee. No additional Start Right Up service fee will be charged without prior written approval.
Material changes may be documented through a Change of Scope & Additional Services Authorisation Form, revised quotation, email, WhatsApp confirmation or another written form accepted by Start Right Up. Where a separate authorisation form is issued, the amended services form part of the original engagement once accepted.
6. Client Representations, Warranties and Obligations
The Client agrees to:
- Provide complete, accurate and current information and documents reasonably required for the services.
- Review information and documents before submission and respond within reasonable timeframes where decisions or approvals are required.
- Attend scheduled appointments where necessary and promptly notify Start Right Up of changes affecting the relocation.
- Provide truthful information to schools, government authorities, banks, landlords and other providers and comply with their requirements.
- Make third-party payments directly where required and make final decisions regarding schools, accommodation, providers and other relocation matters.
Start Right Up will not be responsible for delays or unsuccessful outcomes resulting from incomplete, inaccurate, misleading or late information supplied by the Client.
7. School Search and Application Assistance
Where included, Start Right Up may assist with school research, shortlisting, visit coordination, communications and application preparation or submission. Admission decisions remain entirely with the relevant school and are subject to its criteria, availability, assessments, documentation, fees, policies and final decision. Start Right Up does not guarantee admission, placement, interview selection or acceptance. Services beyond the agreed number of applications or visits may incur additional fees.
8. Accommodation Search and Coordination Services
Where included, Start Right Up may assist with researching, identifying and coordinating accommodation options according to the Client's stated preferences. Availability, rental rates, deposits, lease terms and final approval remain subject to the relevant landlord, property agent or accommodation provider. Start Right Up does not guarantee property availability, rental approval, pricing, lease approval, property condition or third-party performance. The Client remains responsible for reviewing and accepting the final tenancy or accommodation agreement.
9. Third-Party Relocation and Logistics Services
Where mover coordination is included, Start Right Up may liaise and coordinate with the moving company appointed by the Client. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the moving company is selected, engaged and contracted directly by the Client. Start Right Up's role is limited to the agreed liaison and coordination support. Moving services, charges, insurance, packing, transport, customs matters, delivery dates, delays, damage, loss and the mover's performance remain subject to the Client's agreement with the moving company.
10. Administrative and Settling-In Assistance
Where included, Start Right Up may provide practical assistance, information and coordination regarding bank accounts, Singpass, telecommunications, utilities, internet services and similar settling-in requirements. Eligibility, approval and processing remain solely with the relevant institution, government authority or service provider. Start Right Up cannot guarantee approval, activation, processing time or availability.
11. Immigration and Government Matters
Start Right Up may provide general practical information and administrative coordination relating to relocation and government processes where included in the package. Unless expressly stated and legally permitted, Start Right Up does not provide legal or regulated immigration advice. All approvals, passes, permits and related decisions remain subject to the relevant government authority and applicable law. No approval or processing timeframe is guaranteed.
12. Tax, Legal, Financial, Insurance and Estate-Planning Matters
Start Right Up may provide general practical information or facilitate introductions to appropriately qualified third-party professionals. Unless separately authorised and expressly engaged to provide a regulated service, information supplied as part of relocation support should not be treated as legal, tax, investment, insurance or other regulated professional advice. Third-party professionals remain responsible for their own advice and services.
13. Third-Party Providers
Start Right Up may identify, introduce, recommend or coordinate with third-party providers. Such introduction or recommendation does not constitute a guarantee or warranty of performance. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the Client contracts directly with the provider and Start Right Up is not a party to that contract. To the extent permitted by law, Start Right Up is not responsible for acts, omissions, delays, cancellations, losses, damage or service failures attributable to independent third parties.
14. No Guarantee of Outcomes
Start Right Up will use reasonable care and skill in providing the agreed services. Because relocation involves decisions and processes controlled by independent organisations and third parties, Start Right Up does not guarantee outcomes including school admission, government or pass approval, bank account approval, property availability or rental approval, appointment availability, processing times, third-party pricing, or completion by a particular date where dependent on matters outside Start Right Up's control.
15. Communication and Client Approvals
The Client authorises communications regarding the engagement through email, WhatsApp, telephone, video call and other mutually agreed platforms. Written instructions, confirmations and approvals given through email or WhatsApp may be relied upon as written instructions. For material changes involving additional fees, Start Right Up may require a signed Change of Scope & Additional Services Authorisation Form or another express written confirmation before proceeding.
16. Personal Data and Confidentiality
Start Right Up may collect, use and disclose personal information reasonably necessary to provide services, communicate with the Client, coordinate with relevant third parties, arrange appointments and applications, process payments, maintain business records and comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Where necessary to perform the agreed services, the Client authorises Start Right Up to share relevant personal information with schools, accommodation providers, movers, transportation providers and other relevant service providers. Start Right Up will handle personal data in accordance with applicable Singapore data-protection requirements. The Client should provide personal data relating to another person only where authorised to do so for the relevant purpose.
17. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, documents, templates, processes, guides, checklists, presentations and other proprietary materials created by Start Right Up remain its intellectual property. Clients may use materials supplied for their own personal relocation purposes but may not reproduce, distribute, resell or commercially exploit them without written permission.
18. Liability
Start Right Up will provide its services with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Start Right Up will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from circumstances outside its reasonable control or from acts or omissions of independent third parties.
Where Start Right Up is legally liable to the Client and applicable law permits such a limitation, Start Right Up's aggregate liability arising from the relevant engagement shall not exceed the service fees actually paid by the Client to Start Right Up for the services giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
19. Client Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, the Client agrees to indemnify Start Right Up against reasonable losses, claims, liabilities and expenses arising directly from materially inaccurate or misleading information supplied by the Client; unlawful documents or instructions; the Client's material breach of these Terms; or actions taken by Start Right Up in reasonable reliance on authorised Client instructions, except to the extent such loss results from Start Right Up's own breach, negligence or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
20. Delays and Events Outside Our Control
Start Right Up will not be responsible for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including government action, changes in law or regulation, processing delays, school closures, transportation disruption, severe weather, natural disasters, public-health emergencies, telecommunications or system failures, labour disruption, third-party cancellations or similar events. Start Right Up will use reasonable efforts to communicate and adjust the service plan where practicable.
21. Termination
Start Right Up may suspend or terminate an engagement where fees remain unpaid; required information is repeatedly not provided; the Client requests unlawful or misleading action; the Client engages in abusive, threatening or inappropriate conduct; continued performance creates legal or regulatory risk; or another material breach occurs. Where reasonably practicable, Start Right Up will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue. Fees for services already performed remain payable.
22. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
Clients are encouraged to raise concerns directly with Start Right Up as soon as possible so the matter can be reviewed and, where possible, resolved. Both parties agree to attempt in good faith to resolve disputes through direct discussion before commencing formal proceedings, where appropriate. Nothing in this provision prevents either party from exercising rights available under applicable law.
23. Governing Law
These Terms and the Client's engagement with Start Right Up are governed by the laws of Singapore. Subject to applicable statutory rights, the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
24. Changes to These Terms
Start Right Up may update these Terms from time to time. The version applicable to a Client's engagement will ordinarily be the version provided or made available when the Client accepts the relevant quotation or proposal, unless changes are subsequently agreed or required by law.
25. Severability
If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be interpreted or limited to the extent necessary under applicable law, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
26. Entire Agreement and Order of Precedence
These Terms, together with the accepted quotation or proposal, agreed scope and any subsequently approved Change of Scope & Additional Services Authorisation Form, constitute the agreement regarding the relevant services. If there is an inconsistency between these Terms and a specific written term in an accepted quotation or Change of Scope form, the specifically agreed written term will prevail for that engagement to the extent of the inconsistency.
27. Acceptance
By signing the quotation, proposal or other acceptance document, providing written acceptance, making the required payment or instructing Start Right Up to commence services, the Client confirms acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
