Relocating to Singapore for a new role

The challenge
After accepting a job offer in Singapore, our client booked a serviced apartment for his first few weeks. He wanted to view homes in person before signing a lease. The search turned out to be harder than expected. Finding a place that suited him took longer than planned, and his serviced apartment costs kept growing.

How we helped
When he heard about Start Right Up, he got in touch. We took time to understand his needs and budget, recommended neighbourhoods near his office, and connected him with property agents for viewings. Once he had moved in, we helped him set up utilities and internet so his new home was ready to live in.

The outcome
Within a week of engaging us, he had found a home that fit his budget and gave him an easy commute to his office. He moved out of the serviced apartment and settled into his new place.

Two parents and one child relocating to Singapore

The challenge
Moving as a family meant several things had to happen at once. The family needed an international school for their child, bank accounts for both parents, working phones and home internet, and a way to get their belongings from Thailand to Singapore. They wanted one team to help them manage it all.

How we helped
We started by getting to know the family and their move, then put together a package tailored to what they needed. Before they arrived, we held an online meeting to prepare them and go through each step together.

We shortlisted international schools with the family and helped them apply to three. We compared bank account options and shared a shortlist with the parents, and set up their accounts once they had chosen. We also had their SIM cards ready, arranged utilities and home internet, and coordinated with the mover to bring their belongings from Thailand to Singapore.

The outcome
Their child was accepted into one of the schools. Because the family got in touch early, there was enough time to prepare and submit each school application properly. The family told us they felt relieved and happy to have support. While we took care of the setup, they could focus on getting everything else ready for the move.

Case Study: From Bangkok to Postgraduate Life in 4 Weeks

The challenge
A 25 years old girl was moving to Singapore to begin her postgraduate studies. It was her first time in the country, and she had just four weeks to get settled. Her school handled the Student's Pass application, but two bigger worries remained: finding a safe home near campus, and opening a local bank account in a country she had never lived in.

What we did

  • Prepared her for Student's Pass collection, including exactly which documents to bring on the day
  • Coordinated a home search with a licensed agent, shortlisting options 10–30 minutes from campus
  • Met her at the airport and handled first-week setup: SIM card, bank account and EZ-Link card

The outcome
She arrived with everything in place, settled into her new home, and started her programme ready to focus on what she came for: her studies.

I’m truly grateful to have met Ate Dianna. When I first came to Singapore, I was still in my early twenties on how to prepare for my future here. Ate Dianna patiently guided me, explained things clearly, and helped me understand the importance of making informed decisions. Looking back, I’m truly grateful that our paths crossed. Thank you, Ate Dianna, for your patience, kindness, and guidance. I wouldn’t change a thing about my decision, and I’m looking forward to continuing this journey with greater confidence in my future

Ice was incredibly helpful. Even before I moved to Singapore, she went to view homes for me and spoke with the landlord on my behalf, and she also gave me advice on opening a bank account. While I was in Singapore, I could always ask her whenever I had a problem or question, and she was always very helpful. I was really impressed!

Ms. P, Post-graduate Student, Thai

Ice is very responsive and considerate, and always focused on delivering value to her clients.
